Earthquakes are generally due to general calamities. But the natural calamities are caused by a combination of planets. Whenever SATURN transits in CANCER once in 30 years it leads to vast destruction in natural calamities, Heavy tidal waves etc. Earthquakes can also occur due to the position of SHADOW PLANET "KETHU" - it is called as DUMAKETHU. Whenever the Lagna falls in between the combination of MARS , SATURN and other malefic planets like RAHU and KETHU then Earthquakes are said to occur.
